In the Transylvanian village of Praid, guesthouse owners are struggling to reassure anxious tourists that it’s safe to come despite recent floods which inundated the local salt mine. Streets once busy with visitors are mostly empty now that the area’s main attraction, which used to house a treatment center and an adventure park, is closed. Almost half a million tourists visited it in 2024.
